"I have been a nurse for over 25 years. I earned both my undergraduate and master’s degree from WV School of Nursing. I graduated at the head of my class in both the undergraduate and graduate classes respectively.  Initially, I practiced as an APRN with the Pediatric Neurosurgery department of WV University and assisted in the development of the neurosurgical telemedicine program and the multidisciplinary spina bifida clinics.  I also participated as an adjunct faculty for the WV University School of Nursing.  After 8 years, I  went on to fulfill my passion in primary pediatric practice in WV, Maryland and now Delaware.

During my professional career as a nurse and APRN, I have been on the board of the West Virginia Nurses association and chaired the WV Advanced Practice Congress for professional development. I was the WV state representative for the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. I currently hold a position on the board of Maryland Academy of Advanced Practice Clinicians.  I was considered a policy expert in Nursing and have testified at legislative hearings, organized education forums and mentored Advance Practice Clinicians on the subject.  In my roles, I have been appointed by the governor to multiple positions including, DHHS- maternal mortality review,  pediatric development and the preferred drug monitor in boards.

My husband and I moved from our family farm in WV to our new home on the eastern shores in an exciting beach town in Delaware. My husband, Larry, and I enjoy a blended family of 9 grown children and 5 grandchildren. I enjoy gardening, the beach and my pets."
